Payroll Specialist

£30,000 per annum

Monday - Friday / General Office Hours

Our client based in the Wrexham area is currently looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team reporting to the Accounts Manager. The successful candidate would be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with all payroll regulations. The role will be responsible for coordination, accuracy, timeliness and communication of hourly and salaried payroll. The role will ensure compliance with all required filings and act as the focal point for employee queries and information with respect to payroll. They will assist with the design of information gathering and design and maintenance of the company’s payroll and time and attendance software systems.

Performance Objectives

  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions to ensure accurate payroll processing on a bi-weekly basis for Employees.
  • Coordinate required payroll information from each department or group.
  • Coordinate payroll approval and release process.
  • Liaise with payroll provider to ensure data is received and payroll is processed for all Companies (UK, NL, DE).
  • Keep detailed records of employee payroll information, including hours worked, pay rates, and tax information.
  • Ensure the company adheres to all payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
  • Resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues that arise, such as incorrect payments or tax withholdings.
  • Explain payroll-related matters to employees and management, often simplifying complex issues.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and relevant departments.

Person Specification

  • GCSE A-C core subjects or equivalent.
  • A degree in accounting and CIPP certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a payroll processing in required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent mathematical and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
