Quality Leader

Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm / Friday 8am-3pm

Our client based in the Deeside area is currently recruiting a Quality Leader to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Quality Leader is the "go to" for all special processes and technical know-how. Furthermore, support of the special process manufacturing cells to maintain and improve operational daily performance within key special process areas is essential. Finally, the Quality Leader will be responsible for any new product or process qualifications.

Performance Objectives

  • Subject matter expert of quality systems and special process subject matter expert.
  • Manage customer complaints.
  • Maintain the QMS and embodiment of new and Corporate requirements.
  • Manage technical compliance of chemical processing controls.
  • Mange calibration compliance and work instructions.
  • Improvement of the business management systems.
  • Management of business reviews.
  • Management of audit plans and coordinating audit closure.
  • Identify and mitigate company risks.
  • Company rep for accreditation and certification bodies.
  • Lead any new process of product qualifications.
  • Ensure processes comply with corporate, customer & 3rd part regulation requirements.
  • Continuous improvement activities for cost reduction and process repeatability/reliability.
  • Use of Zero Defect tools to reduce the cost of poor quality.

Person Specification

  • Ability to make decisions and resolve problems.
  • Managing internal external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Degree in Chemistry or Materials - desirable, not essential.
  • Ideally AS9100 and Nadcap approvals (Heat Treat, Chemical processing and Non-destructive test).
  • Experience within a fast-paced, aerospace environment - desirable.
  • Knowledge of Zero-defect tools and implementation to address cost of poor-quality - desirable.
