Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with expertise in pipe fitting and fabrication to oversee various projects at an established food manufacturing client based in Wrexham. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supervising teams, managing labour, preparing risk assessments, and ensuring the timely completion of jobs. You will also be responsible for material ordering, project quoting, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and organize a team of skilled pipefitters and fabricators to ensure timely project delivery.
- Assign and coordinate daily tasks, ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Pipe Fitting & Fabrication:
- Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of pipe systems for various projects.
- Ensure high standards in fabrication, installation, and testing of piping systems and components.
Risk Assessments:
- Prepare detailed risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for projects.
- Implement safety procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Material Ordering & Management:
- Manage the procurement and ordering of materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Maintain inventory levels and track usage to avoid project delays.
Project Quoting:
- Provide accurate quotes for small to mid-size jobs, including labour, materials, and other resources.
- Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and ensure that estimates are in line with their expectations.
Labour Organisation:
- Organise and manage labour resources effectively to meet project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure that all personnel are appropriately trained and equipped to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications/ experience:
- Apprentice Trained Pipe Fitter or Welder and Fabricator
- Experience working in Food Manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations.
