Tradewind are seeking experienced and passionate supply teachers to provide day-to-day cover in secondary schools across Wrexham. We work with a variety of schools of varying sizes and needs.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Supervision: Oversee a class, managing students' behaviour and ensuring they stay on task. You are responsible for keeping students engaged and minimising disruptions.
  • Following Lesson Plans: Implement pre-prepared lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring that students are focused on their tasks.
  • Supporting Student Learning: Offer assistance to students as they work through the tasks, answering questions and guiding them through any challenges where possible.
  • Maintaining Order and Discipline: Enforce school rules and policies, manage classroom behaviour, and handle any disciplinary issues that arise, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Taking Attendance: Record attendance and report any absences to school administration.
  • Liaising with Staff: Communicate with other teachers and staff about the progress of lessons, any challenges encountered, and updates regarding the students' work or behaviour.
  • Classroom Preparation and Clean-Up: Ensure that the classroom is set up and tidy, both before and after the lesson to ensure a conducive learning space.

Please note: All applicants will be subject to thorough employment checks and must have an Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service certificate in place. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will need to apply for a new certificate through Tradewind Recruitment. Payable by the candidate and refunded by us after working for 20 days! Candidates must register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in education in Wales. Registration fee payable by the candidate.
