Shift Electrician - Industrial Manufacturing Site
We're looking for a Shift Electrician to join a fast-paced industrial site, providing essential maintenance, repair, and support across a range of electrical systems. This is a hands-on role working on shift, helping to ensure equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment, including work in hazardous areas (DSEAR, ATEX).
- Ensure all work complies with current Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Work in line with the latest electrical regulations (18th Edition, BS7671).
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and effectively.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise plant downtime.
- Read and produce wiring diagrams as required.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Support minor electrical projects to improve and maintain site systems.
- Provide electrical assistance to Operations and Maintenance teams as needed.
- Accept and work under permit-to-work systems in accordance with site safety procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas and workshops.
What we're looking for:
- Essential:
- City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 (or above) in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and associated hazards.
- 18th Edition BS7671.
- Desirable:
- C&G 2391 or 2394/2395 certification in testing and inspection.
- CompEx EX01-04 (EX05-06 also desirable).
- Experience working in industrial or chemical manufacturing environments.
