Electrical AutoCAD Designer

Our client, one of the world’s leading engineering companies, based in Wymondham are currently seeking an Electrical AutoCAD Designer to join their growing team.

This is a full time, permanent position, based in Wymondham

Experience:

  • Experience in electrical AutoCAD
  • A solid understanding of 3-phase systems
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:

  • Participate in the initial planning stages of electrical projects.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and project managers to determine the project scope, objectives, and requirements.

Designing Electrical Systems:

  • Create plans and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and wiring layouts.

Project Management:

  • Depending on the organisation and project scope, you may be involved in project management tasks such as estimating project costs, creating schedules, and coordinating with other team members.

Selecting Components:

  • Choose appropriate components such as wires, cables, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches based on project requirements and budget constraints.

Procurement:

  • Work with the procurement team to source electrical equipment and materials needed for the project, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards.

Other Duties

  • Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with other engineers, such as mechanical engineers, system engineers, production, test, and aftersales teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of designs, test results, and project specifications. This documentation is essential for future reference, compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements, tools, and techniques through continuous learning and professional development activities, given the rapidly evolving nature of technology in the electrical engineering field.
  • Overall, the role of an Electrical Project Engineer is essential in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems across various departments.
