Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, one of the world’s leading engineering companies, based in Wymondham are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer, to join their growing team.

This is a full time, permanent position, based in Wymondham

This position would be ideal for someone with experience in an electrical discipline, a solid understanding of 3-phase systems, and at least 3 years of experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the initial planning stages of electrical projects.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and project managers to determine the project scope, objectives, and requirements.
  • Create plans and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and wiring layouts.
  • Choose appropriate components such as wires, cables, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches based on project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Work with the procurement team to source electrical equipment and materials needed for the project, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with other engineers, such as mechanical engineers, system engineers, production, test, and aftersales teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of designs, test results, and project specifications. This documentation is essential for future reference, compliance, and quality assurance.
