Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, one of the world’s leading engineering companies, based in Wymondham are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer, to join their growing team.

This is a full time, permanent position, based in Wymondham

This position would be ideal for someone with experience in an electrical discipline, a solid understanding of 3-phase systems, and at least 3 years of experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in the initial planning stages of electrical projects.
Collaborating with other engineers and project managers to determine the project scope, objectives, and requirements.
Create plans and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and wiring layouts.
Choose appropriate components such as wires, cables, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches based on project requirements and budget constraints.
Work with the procurement team to source electrical equipment and materials needed for the project, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards.
Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Work closely with other engineers, such as mechanical engineers, system engineers, production, test, and aftersales teams.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of designs, test results, and project specifications. This documentation is essential for future reference, compliance, and quality assurance.
Depending on the organisation and project scope, you may be involved in project management tasks such as estimating project costs, creating schedules, and coordinating with other team members.
Stay updated on the latest advancements, tools, and techniques through continuous learning and professional development activities, given the rapidly evolving nature of technology in the electrical engineering field.
Overall, the role of an Electrical Project Engineer is essential in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems across various departments.
