Senior Systems Engineer

About the Role:

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, integration, and implementation of advanced electric drive systems into a variety of customer applications. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will take ownership of system development, technical specifications, and project delivery, ensuring high-quality results on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop product solutions suitable for various customer systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Define system requirements, goals, and targets, ensuring smooth integration across motors, controllers, and software.
  • Lead customer projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, to cost, and to quality.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to system engineers, fostering professional development.
  • Support international customer projects with occasional overseas travel.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes, ensuring efficiency in system integration and testing.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with UK and international standards.


Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Degree or higher in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in system engineering, requirements management, and change control.
  • Strong understanding of CAN protocol and debugging.
  • Experience in electric drive systems, battery management, and harness development.
  • Strong mechanical background with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Project management experience, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MRP software.
  • Full UK driving licence with ability to travel for business purposes.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience in hybrid vehicle systems and conversion projects.
  • Previous work in automotive, off-road vehicles, or drivetrain development.
