Join Our Clients Engineering Team as a Skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician - Bristol (Yate)

Location: Yate (Gloucestershire)

Hours: 40 Per Week Monday - Friday

Salary: 20.77 per hour with premium rates paid for other shifts

Your Role:

As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our clients fleet of vehicles and trailers. You will perform service and maintenance activities in line with planned maintenance schedules, ensuring that all vehicles are safe, legal, and fit for duty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete signed service and inspection records for all vehicles and trailers
  • Accurately document defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements
  • Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT testing, ensuring they meet standards for a first-time pass
  • Conduct ad-hoc vehicle repairs, including investigating and resolving defects
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all tools, plant, and ancillary equipment
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and perform other duties as reasonably required by Management

What you require:

  • Fully skilled with relevant licenses and vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license (Class 1))
  • City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2, or equivalent qualifications in commercial vehicle repairs
  • Strong knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting procedures
  • Ability to safely lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components
  • Experience with welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting
  • A valid UK driving license
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
