I am seeking an Accounts Assistant to join my client's finance team. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including processing invoices, managing payments, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process purchase invoices ensuring they are ready for payment.
  • Set up payments for approval and enter them into the weekly cash flow forecast.
  • Handle cost of sale invoices and stock entries, ensuring accuracy in matching supplier invoices to orders.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and manage employee expenses, reporting these against the budget.
  • Conduct credit controlling tasks, including sending weekly AR reports to the sales team and customer statements, and working with the team to resolve debt queries and invoice issues.
  • Prepare draft UK VAT returns and manage basic intercompany accruals.
  • Upload and reconcile Amex statements.
  • Handle intercompany recharges related to travel expenses.
  • Track prepayments and release them to profit and loss.
  • Track orders and sales orders.
  • Perform other general accounts assisting and administrative tasks such as supplier onboarding.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an accounts assistant role or similar.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, ideally Syspro.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Knowledge of UK VAT regulations is preferred.
