Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Company to recruit a Mechanical Technician for its site in Suffolk.
The Mechanical Technician role comes with a salary of c. 39,000 + benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will:
- Fault finding, inspecting and maintaining mechanical assets across the power station including pumps, compressors, valves, turbines, pipework etc.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the sites CMMS for maintenance management, safety systems, investigation and performance tools, document control and procedure revision systems.
- Supervising and directing contractors.
- Assisting with day-day planning, outage planning, co-ordination and management of contract support organisations.
- Carry out project work and activities as directed.
- Ensuring HSE compliance at all times.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / HNC
- At least 4 years of experience working in the maintenance team in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant etc.
- Understanding of electrical fault-finding in heavy process environments, which will be required during call-outs
Personal skills
The Mechanical Technician role would suit someone who has:
- Able to work a 1 in 4 call-out rota.
- Able to work well alone or within a team
- A self-starter who always has a positive attitude to work
