T2M are recruiting a Financial Accountant, on behalf of our established international retail client, working as part of the broader finance team, as Financial Accountant you will be responsible for the technical accounting related to fixed and leased assets, as well having line management responsibility for a small team of two. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with the finance team and wider group of a fast growing, high performing organisation that provides job security and career opportunities for the right candidate.

Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

  • Management of a small team, to include continuous improvement of processes, to ensure a strong financial control environment.
  • Technical lead on accounting for fixed and leased assets to ensure compliance with IFRS.
  • Preparation of leased assets annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, working capital variances and monthly commentary, statutory accounts and annual reports, balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and timely Group Financial submissions.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Collaborating with finance and non-finance team members to ensure clear communication with regards to data.

Requirements to be a successful Financial Accountant:

  • Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Financial Accounting experience to include strong technical working knowledge of IFRS, ideally IFRS16.
  • Experience in a fast paced large organisation that has fixed and leased assets with established process and documentation control.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across the business.
  • Ability to develop solutions to problems and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Leadership and development of a small team.
  • Strong experience of Excel.
