What we’re looking for

We represent a thriving national firm of accountants tasked with finding a talented Tax Manager to join their experienced team in Yeovil.

This role will suit an ambitious tax accountant, qualified to ACA, ACCA, or CA level, ideally with CTA and with significant tax experience.

We are searching for a confident, technically excellent, and motivated tax accountant who can review and complete tax returns and provide a full suite of compliance and advisory services. In a pivotal management position, you will also be able to monitor workflow and lead and inspire a team.

Job Purpose

  • Managing the day-to-day workings of a busy tax department.
  • Managing a team of talented tax accountants.
  • The review and completion of tax returns and accounts.
  • Overseeing and developing tax return processes for the department.
  • Meeting with clients to provide tax advisory services.
  • Providing technical and compliance support to the Partners on all aspects of taxation.
  • Assist with tax planning projects including being self-sufficient on certain tax planning projects.
  • Build relationships with work referrers with a view to bringing in work.
  • Attendance at networking events and identifying opportunities to sell additional services to existing clients & prospective new clients.
  • Present at internal and external seminars and webinars.
  • Run and present at internal training meetings.
  • Manage the financial implications of client work including recoveries, identification of additional work to be billed for and selling this to clients, to identify and chase late payment of fees.
  • Encourage, support, and mentor junior team members, overseeing professional development and championing customer service excellence.
  • Proactively investigate and identify opportunities for the firm and clients and be confident in presenting and discussing them at Partner level.
  • Offering first class communication internally and externally both written and verbal.
