These are temporary roles working 40 hours per week working Monday to Friday 7:30 4pm. This is a new warehouse with a great working environment.
Pay: £11.44 per hour for the first 12 weeks worked and then it rises to £12.77 per hour.
The role will include:
- Greet external drivers on arrival and provide instructions for yard site rules, verify their visit details (e.g., delivery or collection information). Clearly communicate yard rules and safety protocols to drivers upon arrival.
- Direct vehicles to designated loading / unloading bays to avoid congestion and ensure smooth operations.
- Verify that lorries are correctly parked, secured, and immobilised.
- Perform loading / unloading processes to ensure proper weight distribution and prevent overloading.
- Inform drivers that they are required to hand their vehicle keys to the forklift operator once positioned for unloading / loading to prevent unauthorised vehicle movement, or for the driver to go and sit in the transport office.
- Safely operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as Forklifts and Fleet Vehicles.
- Oversee loading and unloading, if preformed by others, and ensure strict adherence to the 2 metre rule for all people.
- Ensure drivers are wearing the required PPE, including high-visibility vests / jackets and safety shoes, before exiting their vehicle.
- Check arrivals at the gate from the Leonardo Main Site, and ensure directed to correct destination / parking area.
- Intercept pedestrians entering the yard and redirect them via designated pathways to ensure safety.
- Continually check for potential hazards such as people, boxes, waste material, incorrectly parked vehicles, or obstruction in pathways.
- Monitor yard and canopy activities and address any unsafe behaviours or practices observed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Counterbalance experience
- Warehouse experience.
- Manufacturing / Production environment awareness / experience.
- Basic PC Skills.
- Good understanding of English Language (spoken and written).
