Are you a motivated and experienced building surveyor looking to take your career to the next level? We're looking for an Alterations Team Surveyor to join a dynamic Home care team and play a key role in improving homes and lives.

About the Role:

As an Alterations Team Surveyor, you will be working with a leading housing associationusing expert technical leadership and line management for the Alterations, Adaptations, and Property Permissions functions across all Abri regions. You'll oversee property inspections, surveys, and the specification of works, ensuring compliance with regulations and exceeding customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer-Focused Solutions: Conduct assessments for minor and major adaptations, offering technical advice to residents and managing works via grants or contractors.
  • Expert Leadership: Provide surveying support for projects delivered by in-house teams and external contractors, ensuring high standards and compliance.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect properties, approve alterations, and produce detailed specifications for all required works.
  • Budget Management: Manage adaptation budgets and provide financial reports, ensuring cost-effectiveness and fair service delivery.
  • Project Management: Lead complex property alteration projects from start to finish, including technical reports, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Team Leadership: Guide the Alterations/Adaptations team to deliver projects on time and to the highest standards.
What You'll Bring
  • A degree or HND/HNC in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance or surveying.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal, technical, and policy aspects of property alterations and adaptations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, negotiation, and relationship building.
