Our client, a well-respected NHS organisation in Somerset, is looking for a HR Advisor to come on board on a Temp to Perm basis for an initial 3-month contract that has the opportunity to go permanent if successful in the initial contract.

Location: Yeovil (Hybrid Remote working – 3 days onsite per week)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week Temp (Monday-Friday) – 30 hours Perm (Monday-Friday)

Length of Contract: 3 Months Temp to Perm

Hourly Rate: £17.50 via Umbrella Temp (£29,970 perm salary)

Day to Day Duties:

  • Providing expert advice and interpretation of NHS terms and conditions and polices enabling resolution of complex queries escalated
  • Management of informal stages of employee relations cases (Grievance, Disciplinary and Dignity at Work) seeking to resolve at the informal stage.  Escalation to Senior People Consultants when necessary and at each formal investigation stage.  
  • Providing internal consultancy service to all trust managers on a range of workforce issues in a number of key result areas (not limited to);
  • Performance Management
  • Sickness Management and the Health and Well Being agenda
  • Policies and Procedures implementation and development
  • National and local Terms and Conditions of service
  • Recruitment and Resourcing – assessment, probation, induction
  • Work closely with People Directorate teams to provide outcome focused holistic solutions to support operational managers and staff with their workforce issues
  • Proactively manage to timescale the Service Level Agreement assigned to the People Consultant associated queries and employment cases.
  • To examine possible solutions to problems, queries presented where the HR policy is not specific and to examine and research options for resolution and make recommendations on a proposed course of action to operational managers and staff.

Essential Skills:

  • CIPD level 3 minimum (CIPD 5 desired)
  • Experience of working in an NHS environment is desirable
