AME - Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II

Our client based in Yeovil is a leading provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems and service solutions for aircraft manufacturers, airlines, business and general aviation, military space and airport operations. The Aerospace Yeovil site includes Integrated Supply Chain operations and Engineering & Technology as well as other support functions.

Job Overview:
The AME will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing engineering within any given area of the business.

Job Description:
* Develop and implement strategies to drive overall product and process improvements
as well as product integrity on existing products.
* Support the Development and introduction of new products in line with Company
IPDS 2.0
* Drive & Deliver any prototypes for process or design validation, as qualification
hardware,
* Get back to standard any defect issues in a prompt manner;
* Lead and co-ordinate cell manufacturing activities between Product Engineers,
Operations, ME and Quality and Manufacturing Assurance team.
* Plan, deploy, monitor and control site-level improvement initiatives to drive
Productivity (and includes Machining programme wiring and verification and fixture's
design).
* Support customer and supplier communications to improve product quality and
delivery.

Skills and Requirements:
* Technical expert for products manufactured & processes within their cell(s)
* Proven experience within the general application of engineering. This could be within
mechanical/electrical/manufacturing
* Previous experience of participating, and actioning continuous improvement projects
* Experience of PFMEA is highly desirable
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of export control licenses and technical assistant agreements.

Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm
Pay rate - 24.27

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
