Ergonomics Advisor / Yeovil / £22 per hour

As an Ergonomics Advisor, you will lead ergonomic risk management to prevent musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries across our client's main site and satellite locations, ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of our staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policy Development: Maintain and develop Ergonomics and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) policies.
  • Risk Assessments: Compile and monitor ergonomic risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Training: Deliver and monitor ergonomics/manual handling training.
  • DSE Management: Conduct DSE workstation assessments for site and home workers.
  • Ergonomic Support: Provide advice to managers and employees, including self-management for MSK injuries.
  • Work Capability Assessments: Assist with fitness to return to work and recommend adjustments.
  • Work Conditioning: Develop programmes to assist employees with MSK conditions.
  • Office Refurbishments: Offer ergonomic advice for refurbishments and equipment.
  • Incident Investigation: Provide ergonomic advice during investigations.
  • Safety Footwear Advice: Guide on bespoke safety footwear, including orthotics.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on ergonomic performance and analyse data for improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the occupational health provider and other stakeholders.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Formal Ergonomics qualification.
  • 5+ years' experience in occupational health, ideally in manufacturing/engineering.
  • State registration with the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Knowledge of ergonomics tools and techniques.
  • Proactive attitude and biopsychosocial approach.
  • Health and safety management qualification at NVQ Level 4 or above.
  • Continuing professional development.
  • Knowledge of UK law and regulations related to ergonomics.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • UK Driving Licence.
