About the Role:
Our client, a prestigious institution, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join their friendly and focused accounts department. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment with the potential for the position to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide payroll support for approximately 1000 employees on a monthly basis.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Process salaries for company employees.
  • Ensure correct deductions and remittances for PAYE, NI, pensions, and other charges.
  • Reconcile payroll-related control accounts and prepare necessary reports.
  • Manage payroll-related queries and liaise with employees.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with payroll.
  • Proficiency in using computerised payroll systems.
  • Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and organisational abilities.
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation and procedures.
  • Ability to work confidentially and with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
