Your Company:The team at NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful business, to support their ongoing search for a Finance Assistant to join the team in Yeovil. This business has nearly 50 years of successful trading history behind them and deep rooted values, emanating from their family business origins, leading to them continuing this success into the next few years, with strong growth plans as they reach more and more customers.This is a new role, created due to business expansion, and will report directly into the Financial Controller while supporting a bustling finance team, primarily with purchase ledger duties, alongside wider financial responsibilities. This will be a highly valued role within the team and will provide the position holder with fantastic experience from which a strong career can be built.Your Role and Responsibilities:While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

Providing accounts payable support by processing supplier invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier statements and maintaining the supplier ledgers, whilst also handling supplier queries and resolving pricing issues
Supporting on ad-hoc accounts receivable and credit control duties to cover stress times when absence and annual leave is prevalent
Covering payment runs
Assisting with month end duties and procedures as required
Supporting the finance team with reporting, any other duties as needed by the Financial Controller and occasionally answering the phones

What you will need to Apply:For this position, applicants should be able to demonstrate some previous transactional accounting experience, and it would be beneficial for good purchase ledger knowledge and understanding, including handling invoices. It is not necessary for applicants to have or be working towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, however this would be taken into consideration if so. Excellent communication skills, as well as a strong aptitude for IT systems including accounting software and Microsoft Office would be needed. Of course a good mathematics and numerical understanding would be required for this role.What you will get in Return:The successful candidate can expect to receive a base salary of up to £27,000, dependent on previous experience and relevant demonstratable knowledge, and this will accompany a generous benefits package including a good pension, holiday allocation and other monetary incentives.The company will provide excellent training to support the position holders ongoing learning and understanding surrounding the role, with access to fantastic resources and training material to supplement this.
