Long Term Teachers are working with a fantastic new SEMH school, based just outside of Yeovil. The school builds a thriving community where everyone feels welcome and invested in their learning. The school are currently seeking a full time Teaching assistant, who is seeking a permanent role. It is essential that you have experience of supporting children at both primary and secondary level with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs. You must be mouldable, dedicated and patient to be able to provide the best quality of support to the students.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting teachers in the preparation and delivery of daily lesson plans and educational activities.
- Supporting the assessment of student progress, marking assignments, and providing constructive feedback.
- Facilitating small group sessions and one-to-one support for students requiring extra help.
- Participating in school meetings and professional development sessions.
- Ensuring classroom environments are safe and conducive to learning.
- Maintaining records of students' progress and behaviour.
- Contributing to the creation of a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.
