Vehicle Technician - Yeovil

Role Overview: As a Vehicle Technician with our client, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle repairs and servicing while ensuring excellent customer experiences. Your duties will include routine maintenance, fault diagnostics, repairs, and testing across a wide range of vehicle systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer requirements.
  • Run diagnostic tests on engine, transmission, brakes, air conditioning, fuel systems, and security features.
  • Carry out repairs on engines, drive trains, suspension, electrical systems, and interior trim components.
  • Conduct electronic vehicle health checks.
  • Communicate directly with customers to understand vehicle concerns and advise on technical issues.
  • Road test vehicles post-repair or service, and assist customers with vehicle concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training (both in-house and external).
  • Adhere to company and manufacturer guidelines and procedures.
  • Support your colleagues and work towards company goals, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidate:

  • Positive, punctual, hardworking, flexible, and driven.
  • Experience working with main dealers.
  • Strong technical knowledge of various vehicle makes and models.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to engage with both customers and colleagues.
  • Capable of working independently and following instructions.
  • Focused on providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Well-presented, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Honest and of high integrity.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure and meeting deadlines.

Key requirements:

  • Qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (essential).
  • Full UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points.
  • A strong desire to provide excellent customer service.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Alternate Saturdays: 8:30am - 12:30pm (excluding certain locations)
