Trainee Machinist | From £23,800 to £30,000 | Sherborne

Purpose

Responsibilities

As a Trainee Machinist, your duties will involve:

  • Operating a selection of manual and CNC based machinery for metal processing
  • Processing steel to customers’ requirements and tolerances. Work within the company’s quality system to ensure the full traceability of customer orders
  • Operating forklifts, Combi lifts and the crane, safely and in a controlled manner
  • Loading, offloading of plate and parts from the machines
  • Identifying and locate different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment.

Background

The successful Trainee Machinist will have:

  • Competency at reading drawings, orders and following verbal instructions
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
