Job Purpose
  • Prepare accounts for a diverse client portfolio, using systems such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks Online
  • Support the delivery of audit assignments from planning to completion, working closely with senior team members
  • Review statutory accounts and prepare draft corporation tax computations and returns
  • Action queries raised by the accounts and tax managers on the draft accounts and tax computations
  • Prepare reports and represent them clearly during client meetings
  • Build strong rapport with clients, acting as their 'go-to’ contact for ad hoc queries
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to junior staff
  • Keep up with emerging trends and undertake relevant CPD to maintain technical knowledge
  • Review the firm’s processes and systems regularly to make suggestions for improvement
  • Attend clients’ premises predominantly across the North-East and Yorkshire depending on office location

The Successful Applicant
  • ACCA or ACA qualified, finalist or studying
  • Recent practice experience of accounts preparation for owner-managed businesses
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid working knowledge of Excel
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Self-motivated and reliable who is eager to progress
  • A strong work ethic, time management and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm to learn from an experienced team
  • Proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail
  • Flexible and able to effectively manage multiple priorities
