The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established leader in their industry, is looking for a Management Accountant to join their team based east of York. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has had some experience within a management accounts role who is looking for further exposure to complement their studies but it would also suit someone who has a lot of practical month end experience who is looking for new role locally.

You’ll work closely with an approachable and highly experienced Financial Controller, gaining exposure to the full end-to-end management accounts process while contributing to the company’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Financial Controller and Finance Director with monthly management accounts
- Producing financial packs with commentary and variance analysis
- Preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts and assisting with budgeting processes
- Assisting with statutory audit processes and liaising with auditors
- Preparing and presenting internal financial reports
- Posting prepayments, accruals, and rebates
- Performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Implementing process improvements
- Processing payroll and ensuring compliance with financial regulations (e.g., VAT and payroll returns)
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including fixed asset registers and cash flow reporting
- Supporting ERP system integration and assisting in embedding it across the business
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally:
- Be AAT Qualified, Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA, or be Qualified By Experience
- Have experience in management accounts or in-depth month-end processes
- Possess excellent communication skills and be confident engaging with stakeholders
- Be organised, deadline-driven, and proactive in developing yourself and the role
- Ideally have payroll processing experience
