Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sage Accounts / Finance specialist to join a well-respected charitable organisation based at their York site.

Your new role

Using a Sage 200 accounting package you will be responsible for ensuring that all accounts are maintained on an accurate and timely basis, entering transactions into the accounting system and updating spreadsheets as necessary.Administration of payments: inputting on the online banking or sending written payment instructions to the bank, and liaising with signatories for authorisation of these instructions. Ensuring filing with appropriate authorisations in place is kept in support of all payments. Checking the accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation.Raising sales invoices as necessary and ensuring that all monies due are received on a timely basis. Account for all monies received and acknowledge sundry donations.Ensuring the effective and timely administration of all grant payments. This includes liaising with the Operations team and ensuring all grants due for payment are made on time, and updating the grants' database for payments made.Ensuring the effective and timely administration of all non-grant payments and maintaining the purchase ledger, dealing with supplier enquiries and making sure that it is properly reconciled.Ensuring that bank and cash payments are properly reconciled. Liaising with banks to resolve any queries and problems.Administration of staff credit cards.Prepare and post journals as required.Prepare and update routine monthly, periodic and year-end financial statements, including the cash-flow and non-grant expenditure reports. Prepare other ad-hoc financial reports as required.Carry out month-end and year-end update routines.Help staff resolve routine finance queries and problems.To provide administration support to the Head of Finance.Attend Committee meetings as and when required.Arrange meetings, travel and accommodation, room bookings and refreshments for the Finance team.Ensure all financial information (paper and electronic) is relevant, accurate and is filed, stored and retained in accordance with finance and organisational policies and procedures.*Manage the Head of Finance and Investment's correspondence in their absence and provide other administrative support as required.Provide general administration support, as required.
