Our client is a solution led, specialist mortgage lender, offering a wide variety of niche mortgage products. They care passionately about their customers and are seeking a sales-oriented and customer-centric Telephone BDM to join their dedicated Sales team. This is a new role, part of a wider expansion owing to extremely strong demand for their products and investment in the wider business.

As a Telephone BDM, you will be aligned regionally to a field based Key Account Manager, someone you will work closely with and 'buddy’ with them, preparing you for a future field based role if that was your career aspiration. You can be based anywhere in the North as the role is remote but your Key Account Manager is based in Newcastle.

Duties of the Telephone BDM will include:

  • Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the mortgage sector, targeting potential clients via telephone and digital channels.
  • Sales Strategy: Follow sales strategies to increase market share, ensuring a consistent pipeline of leads and conversions.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, offering tailored mortgage solutions to meet their needs.
  • Lead Generation: Qualify and follow up on inbound leads, identifying client requirements and converting them into viable sales opportunities.
  • Market Research: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Sales Reporting: Ensure that CRM systems and data are maintained against KPI’s set by the business Add
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Key Account Manager in the field, underwriting and processing cases when required to ensure smooth mortgage applications and a high level of customer service.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in a mortgage sales environment, with a strong telephone sales background.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage products.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade clients over the phone.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of calls and client enquiries.
  • Self-motivated and driven by targets, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
