We are working alongside a well-established Agricultural and Animal Science college based in York. Their mission is to provide top-notch support and maintenance services to ensure a safe and efficient environment for all. They are seeking a dedicated and reliable Temporary Caretaker to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of general handyman tasks, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. Tasks will be assigned via a ticketing system, and the Caretaker will be expected to complete each job efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure all facilities are well-maintained and safe.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the college facilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Strong handyman skills, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
