We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst on behalf of our client, one of the leading brands in the UK insurance market.

The role works on a hybrid basis, and candidates must be based in the company's York office for a minimum of 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to projects, teams and departments in the delivery of their strategic, tactical and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team on a mixture of small and larger, more complex projects, with responsibilities varying from project to project, depending on the needs of the business.
  • Ensuring the accuracy, quality and relevance of your analysis and recommendations.
  • Reporting primarily to the Head of Claims Operations, reporting to Project/Programme Managers or other senior stakeholders in the business as needed.
  • Assisting with embarking on an Agile transformation journey, moving from a predominantly Waterfall delivery methodology to more Agile ways of working, helping the company to define their future technology blueprint.
  • Working closely with Data Analysts to ensure data management requirements are incorporated into solutions.

Key Requirements

  • Experience within Insurance or Financial Services, including Claims knowledge, is preferred but experience gained within other sectors will also be considered.
  • Experience of using BA mapping techniques, and working within both Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks, is preferred but not essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in process improvement i.e. BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, Lean Six Sigma, or PRINCE2.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business, with the ability to constructively challenge peers and Managers.
  • Evidence of applying soft influencing, persuasion and consultancy skills, with leadership qualities that will influence scope and design.
  • Excellent research and analysis skills.
