We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Operations Director to join our client in York. This is a permanent or interim, full-time role offering a competitive salary band of £90,000 to £120,000 per annum.

You will be directing all operation activities of the company to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively, translating business strategies into operational places and developing long term plans that increase productivity and success for the business. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop long term strategies that drive productivity and success for the company.
  • Oversee the delivery team to ensure they are motivated, trained, and equipped to meet high standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage operations teams, including department heads, project managers, and creative teams.
  • Analyse and streamline operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase quality.
  • Utilise data and performance metrics to monitor KPIs and OKRs, assess operational effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee resource allocation, manage budgets, monitor utilisation, and forecast resource needs.
  • Ensure all operational activities meet or exceed quality standards and identify potential operational risks with strategies to mitigate them.
  • Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and other departments to ensure alignment of operations with overall business objectives.
  • Potentially manage vendor relationships, contracts, and the procurement process.
  • Provide regular reports on operational performance to the Executive Leadership Team and the board.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an operations leadership role.
  • Strong strategic thinking and focus under pressure.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams of project managers and creatives.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to analyse business data.
  • Experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
