Duration: Ongoing whilst the school recruits for the role on a permanent basis

Hours: 8am - 4pm (Some flexibility)

Responsibilities:As the School Business Manager, you will:

  • Support the Headteacher in all financial management and administrative functions.
  • Lead and develop financial procedures in collaboration with the Headteacher, Governors, and SLT Team.
  • Oversee the maintenance and efficient use of school premises and buildings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and risk management requirements.
  • Manage administrative staff, assessing their training needs and performance.
  • Prepare the school for Ofsted financial criteria and FMSiS.
  • Liaise with Local Authority members on relevant matters.
  • Contribute to the school improvement plan and participate in recruitment processes.
  • Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Governing Board. ??

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Proven experience in financial management within an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of administrative and HR processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various stakeholders.
  • A commitment to promoting high standards of business practises and resource management. ??

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school environment.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted financial criteria and FMSiS.
  • Relevant qualifications in business management or finance.
  • Experience with eforms, iTrent HR & Payroll & Orovia
