Business Development Manager Location: Hybrid (Harrogate/York/Darlington)Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 + OTE £80,000
Company Overview:Join a well-established, family-run business that has been a leader in the seafood market for years. With a reputation for quality and innovation, they operate across the UK and internationally, supplying premium products to the market. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to expand our client base, strengthen partnerships, and drive new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the food sector, targeting wholesalers, retailers, food service providers, and other key markets

Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads to meet and exceed sales targets

Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective communication and persuasive selling techniques

Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities

Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management

Collaborate with the team to share insights and strategies, contributing to a positive and productive work environment

Focused on bringing on new wholesale business
Requirements:

Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the food industry

Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets

Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively

Passion for the food industry and an understanding of supply chains, market trends, and customer needs

Willingness to travel for exhibitions and business trips

Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team - flexibility on working hours is required

Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite
Location:This is a hybrid role, but you will be required to visit the office occasionally, so candidates based in Harrogate, York, Leeds, Darlington or surrounding areas are ideal.
