Business Development Manager Location: Hybrid (Harrogate/York/Darlington)Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 + OTE £80,000

Company Overview:Join a well-established, family-run business that has been a leader in the seafood market for years. With a reputation for quality and innovation, they operate across the UK and internationally, supplying premium products to the market. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to expand our client base, strengthen partnerships, and drive new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the food sector, targeting wholesalers, retailers, food service providers, and other key markets

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads to meet and exceed sales targets

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective communication and persuasive selling techniques

  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities

  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management

  • Collaborate with the team to share insights and strategies, contributing to a positive and productive work environment

  • Focused on bringing on new wholesale business

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the food industry

  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively

  • Passion for the food industry and an understanding of supply chains, market trends, and customer needs

  • Willingness to travel for exhibitions and business trips

  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team - flexibility on working hours is required

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite

Location:This is a hybrid role, but you will be required to visit the office occasionally, so candidates based in Harrogate, York, Leeds, Darlington or surrounding areas are ideal.
