Engineering Membership Officer (Part-Time, Remote - Yorkshire & Humber region)

Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with an International Engineering Membership Organisation to recruit a dedicated and professional Engineering Membership Officer. This exciting role involves driving membership growth, providing expert guidance to both members and non-members, particularly those within the engineering sector, and supporting the development of membership strategies.

This position is perfect for someone who thrives in building relationships and has experience in membership development or a related field, ideally within the engineering industry or an engineering membership body. While this is a fully remote role, we are seeking candidates ideally based in Yorkshire & Humber or the Northeast, as the role involves supporting members and employers across these regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Membership Growth: Actively promote and grow the organisation's membership by engaging with engineering professionals and relevant stakeholders in the Yorkshire & Humber and Northeast regions.
  • Membership Support: Provide advice and guidance to existing and potential members on professional development and qualifications, with a focus on engineering careers and accreditation.
  • Employer Engagement: Work closely with engineering employers in the region to provide guidance on professional development, qualifications, and support for mentoring schemes.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside engineering teams and engineering membership bodies to develop strategies that enhance membership growth and professional development within the engineering sector.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate and deliver training sessions specifically aimed at supporting engineers' career progression and promoting relevant qualifications.

Person Specifications:

  • Proven experience in an engineering-related field, including civil, mechanical, structural, or other engineering disciplines.
  • Experience working within an engineering membership body, professional accreditation organisation, or an engineering-led environment.
  • Strong knowledge of professional development, accreditation pathways, and career progression within engineering.
  • Ability to build relationships with engineers at all levels, including senior professionals, and provide credible career and membership guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present in-person and online.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with databases.
