Building Control Surveyor (Class 2 Registered)
Day Rate: 400 - 500 (Inside IR35)
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Contract: 6 Months (with potential for extension)
Panoramic is collaborating with a Local Authority in Yorkshire and the Humber to recruit an experienced Class 2 Registered Building Control Surveyor. This role is pivotal in ensuring that new and existing buildings comply with statutory regulations, safeguarding community safety and structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and comment on plans for new buildings, alterations, or extensions to ensure adherence to Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Conduct unsupervised on-site inspections at various stages of construction to verify compliance with Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Provide expert advice to developers, builders, and contractors on compliance matters, ensuring that construction practices meet required standards.
  • Keep detailed, comprehensive, and up-to-date electronic records of site activities, ensuring data accuracy within the asset management system.
  • Participate in team meetings, working groups, and relevant seminars as directed by the Service Manager to promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure that all operations meet health and safety standards, contributing to a culture of safety within the construction environment.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Class 2 Registration: Accredited by a recognized professional body.
  • Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in building control inspections, preferably within a public sector setting.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current Building Regulations and compliance processes.
  • Communication Skills: Proven ability to effectively communicate technical information and maintain positive relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills to assess construction plans and identify potential compliance issues.
