This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of a secure environment while enjoying a supportive and dynamic team culture.Role Overview:As a General Operative/Handyperson, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across the site, ensuring the premises are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Your duties will involve general repairs, small-scale installations, and day-to-day building maintenance, supporting the facilities management team to ensure everything runs smoothly. You'll be working in a varied and hands-on role with plenty of opportunities for skill development.Key Responsibilities:

  • General Maintenance: Undertake a variety of general maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, as well as painting and other building work.
  • Repairs & Improvements: Carry out minor repairs to site infrastructure, including doors, windows, fixtures, and fittings to maintain a safe and operational environment.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all tasks are performed following health and safety guidelines, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular inspections of the site to identify and address potential maintenance issues before they become major problems.
  • On-Call Support: Be available for on-call duties, attending to emergency repairs outside of standard working hours.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and teams to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Customer Liaison: Communicate with site management to ensure smooth coordination of work and minimal disruption to operations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Health & Safety: Understanding of health and safety standards and the ability to work in a compliant and safe manner.

  • Proactive: A hands-on individual who can work independently, take initiative, and manage a variety of tasks.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required.
