In the 1960's the British Pig Industry discovered the benefits of rearing pigs in controlled environment buildings. This complete with genetic improvements to the pig allowed the UK to lead the world in the supply of breeding animals for some years. Brick and concrete wall construction was replaced by quicker and more cost-effective methods.
Now our client's success requires their team to expand and are now looking to increase their site management team.
Site Management:
- Manage the entire unit building installation process on-site, including coordinating deliveries, crane operations, and placement of units.
- Ensure the site is properly prepared for unit installation, including levelling, utilities, and access points.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of installation crews, including subcontractors, ensuring efficient work practices and adherence to project timelines.
- Delegate tasks, provide clear instructions, and address any concerns or issues raised by the team.
Quality Control:
- Verify that all units are installed according to specifications, including proper connections, finishes, and alignment.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process and address any defects immediately.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Health and Safety:
- Enforce strict safety protocols on site, including proper PPE usage, hazard identification, and incident reporting.
- Conduct regular safety meetings with the team to address safety concerns and promote a safe working environment.
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed installation plans and timelines.
- Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying any potential delays and taking corrective actions.
- Manage resource allocation to ensure efficient project execution.
Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain open communication with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to keep everyone informed of project status.
- Address any concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates on project milestones.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in construction supervision, preferably with modular/prefabricated building projects.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and safety regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Cherry picker/Telehandler/CSCS licences all desireable
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Understanding and awareness of agricultural builds
