SupportED recruitment are looking for teaching assistants at the beginning stage of their career. As we are run by experienced teachers, we are able to support and guide you through the steps of becoming a teaching assistant. If you are passionate about educating children and are a kind, friendly, enthusiastic individual then you are one step closer to working in our schools.

Our Primary schools are mainly based in York, Thirsk, Selby and Leeds. We can offer the flexibility of part time or day to day work, or provide wonderful full time opportunities. Our roles can vary from a general teaching assistant, closely working with a pupil 1:1, or a combination of both throughout the school day. Although desirable, experience and qualifications are not essential to start working in school.

What we can offer:

  • Provide you with the appropriate safeguarding training to work in our schools
  • Mentoring upon request
  • 1 to 1 development meetings with an experienced teacher upon request

What your teaching assistant responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the class teacher deliver lessons and activities for the children
  • Providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and develop
  • Assisting primary pupils on a one-to-one basis
  • Developing children's social, emotional and academic needs in and outside the classroom
  • Monitoring pupil progress
