Electrical Training Officer - North East

Are you an experienced electrician looking to transition into a rewarding role where you can shape the future of the industry? A leading training provider is seeking an Electrical Training Officer to support and assess apprentices across the North East region.

Role Overview

This role involves mentoring and assessing electrical apprentices, ensuring they receive high-quality training and support throughout their qualification journey. You will manage a caseload of apprentices, work closely with employers, and play a key role in developing the next generation of electricians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with employers to secure apprenticeship placements and coordinate college enrolment.
  • Promote apprenticeship opportunities through schools and career services.
  • Conduct apprentice reviews, validate skills assessments, and ensure correct programme placement.
  • Carry out workplace assessments and provide constructive feedback in line with National Occupational Standards (NOS).
  • Support apprentices in preparing for End-Point Assessments (EPA).
  • Identify at-risk learners and implement intervention strategies to support their success.
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding and Prevent policies.
  • Build strong relationships with industry partners and promote training programmes.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and assessment standards through CPD.
Requirements:

Essential:

  • Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in Electrotechnical installation.
  • Industry experience as a qualified practitioner.
  • Current IET Wiring Regulations (e.g., 18th Edition) or willingness to upskill.
  • GCSE English & Maths (A-C, 9-4) or equivalent Level 2 qualification.

Desirable:

  • Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
  • Assessor qualifications (D32, D33, A1, TAQA).
  • 2391 or equivalent Testing & Inspection qualification.
  • Knowledge of building services engineering and related industries.
