Our client is currently looking for senior hygiene manager to join the team on an initial 3 month contract. This working for a national organisation that manufacture some of the UK’s leading brands.

Lead and champion our hygiene standards on site providing leadership and direction to the Site hygiene and Operation teams. Drive continuous improvement by challenging and validating our systems, processes and ways of working. Build capability in our hygiene and operational teams, educate the team in cleaning procedures and standards.

Leadership and management

  • Provide leadership and direction to the hygiene and operations team ensuring that how we manage our hygiene standards is effective and continuously improved.
  • Liaise with operations to ensure hygiene activities are embedded into the schedules.

Standards and compliance

  • Ensure site compliance to customer policies, codes of practice and external certification.
  • Supports the site teams to ensure compliance to GMP and factory standards through training, education and validation.
  • Ensure effective hygiene schedules, procedures and validation of our standards is in place
  • Create and maintain the hygiene schedules for the site
  • Develop and maintain hygiene procedures and work instructions for all areas and equipment and that they meet BRC and retailers codes of practice
  • Support the Technical Manager/QA Manager on allergen management & risk assessment, verification and validation.
  • Management of site hygiene standards and audits.

Quality systems and KPI’s

  • Ensure effective measuring, trending and reporting against relevant internal and customer KPI’s
  • Ensure our Hygiene procedures are maintained and evolved in line with central QMS, customer requirements, industry and technical advances.

Customer

  • Support the Technical Manager/QA Manager and site hygiene managers/leads on hygiene related activities during customer visits & audits to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Support the Technical team with hygiene related non-conformances & internal concessions
  • Ensure effective investigation, communication and reporting of hygiene related incidents

Learning and development

  • Review team skills and develop induction and training programmed for the team

Qualifications and knowledge

  • Min 7 years’ experience in FMCG or similar environment, and with at least 5 years of supervising/leading teams
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hygiene related roles
  • HACCP Level 3 qualification
  • BRC Compliance and audits aware.
