A renowned mushroom farm in East Yorkshire is seeking a dedicated Harvest Manager to join its esteemed team. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £50,000, dependent on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including 28 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). Role Overview

The Harvest Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the delicate and precise harvesting of mushroom crops. The successful candidate will manage the planning and organisation of the growing houses, ensuring optimal performance from Pickers and Placers, and maintaining high standards of health and safety, as well as food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Quality and Quantity Control: Ensure picking quality and quantity meet set targets per hour per picker.
- Training and Development: Train, coach, and mentor staff and supervisors to achieve desired pick rates.
- Staff Management: Complete manning plans for growing rooms, organise staff, and make staffing decisions.
- Daily Assessments: Assess crop conditions daily and ensure correct staffing and plans are in place.
- Graze Picking: Ensure proper graze picking to maximise crop yield and quality.
- Product Standards: Maintain high standards for product presentation, including weights, sizing, and identification.
- Operational Planning: Attend daily operations meetings to plan staffing, yields, and work hours.
- Customer Fulfilment: Ensure customer orders are met by aligning picking with pack-house sales requirements.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to and promote health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Liaise with various managers and team leaders to address issues and improve processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion industry best practices and introduce new technologies where applicable.
-Member of sites Food Safety, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP team
-Ensure all completed work is safe and hygienic and complies with FSA and health and safety legislation.

Essential Experience and Qualities.

- Proven experience in mushroom picking.
- Previous supervisory experience in a mushroom farm.
- Strong communication and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic IT and numerical tasks.
- A collaborative team player.
- Advanced Food Hygiene Qualification

Working Conditions

- Flexible working hours, 5 out of 7 days to suit business needs.
- Overtime and weekend work required during peak periods.
- 28 including bank holidays.Holiday year runs from April March.
