SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £83 - £100 per day

GSL Education are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision located in York, North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be supporting a small group of Early Years Foundation Stage and Reception learners with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher with delivering educational based activities.
- Assist in activities that support speech, language, and communication development.
- Provide dedicated support to students with SLCN and other needs, in and out of the classroom.
- Use appropriate strategies to manage and support student behaviour.
- Be patient, with a kind and caring approach to student learning.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Prior experience working with young children, ideally in an EYFS/Reception setting.
- Knowledge of how to successfully support learners with SCLN is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in Early Years, childcare, or SEND are also desirable.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the welfare of children.
- Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
