Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary Scale: £83 – £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Term Time Only

GSL Education are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work at a Special Educational Needs School in York, North Yorkshire. This role will involve supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis, under the direction of class teachers.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Support class teachers and other key staff with lesson planning and delivery.
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students including those with special educational needs.
Build rapport with young people and create an inclusive environment.
Assist with differentiated learning activities.
Support students with social, emotional, and academic challenges.
Be dedicated to supporting students in reaching their full potential.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Complex Care Worker, Youth Worker or in a similar role.
Experience working with SEN students, ideally within a school setting.
Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
