Cisco Network Engineer
Overview
Our client is mobilizing the Primary Care IT contract across North Yorkshire and York. This project will involve the migration of IT services across 125 sites in the region, scheduled from 6th January to 31st March 2025. The role will include on-site visits, remote work, and may require early starts, overnight stays, and evening/weekend work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Configuration and Support: Update and troubleshoot switch configurations during the migration process.
- IT Service Transition: Assist with re-routing IT services from the previous IT provider, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- On-Site Implementation: Travel to client sites to carry out IT service migrations.
- Remote Support: Provide remote assistance during migrations as required.
- Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network and configuration issues swiftly and efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team and client stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
- Flexibility: Adapt to a dynamic schedule, which may include evening shifts starting at 6 PM, as well as potential weekend work.
Qualifications and Skills
- CCNA Certification: Essential for troubleshooting and configuring network switches and related IT systems.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in diverse environments and managing changing schedules.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel across North Yorkshire and York, including overnight stays as necessary.
