VIQU has partnered with an innovative technology solutions provider that specialises in helping organisations optimise and secure their digital infrastructure.
They are seeking a skilled Network Systems Engineer to provide outstanding technical support across diverse technical environments, with a strong emphasis on networking and virtualisation capabilities. As a Network Systems Engineer, you will deliver high-quality support to managed service clients, ensuring all systems are configured and maintained for optimal reliability. In addition to hands-on support, the role involves contributing to projects, mentoring junior engineers, and taking the lead in customer-specific technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities of the Network Systems Engineer:
- Provide in-depth support for customer networks, applications, and hardware, with a focus on networking as a central function.
- Manage, update, and secure Azure Stack systems.
- Execute data backups and disaster recovery processes as required.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Proactively monitor system performance, implementing adjustments to maximise efficiency and uptime.
- Apply security, resilience, and backup measures with a strong focus on network integrity.
- Maintain and develop user guides and technical documents to enhance operational processes.
- Liaise with vendors and technical teams for swift and effective issue resolution.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure availability.
Essential Skills of the Network Systems Engineer:
- Deep understanding of networking protocols, including OSI model, TCP/IP, and key network management (switches, routers etc)
- Highly proficient in virtualisation and containerisation tools such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting both Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong expertise in Azure
- Familiarity with enterprise-grade hardware solutions in compute, storage, LAN, WLAN, and EUC environments.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring systems (e.g., LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, MCSA, or VCP, are highly desirable
- Must possess a valid UK license and vehicle
