Break Fix IT Engineer - York (2 Required)

We are on the lookout for field engineers to join our team for a very busy period across multiple contracts starting in October 2024 until Jan 2025.

Experience in EPOS / IT / Break Fix world ideal, although we will consider those with the right attitude and transferrable skills and experience.

The work is field based in retail stores, lots of travel generally - although we will try and keep you as close to home as possible.

We carry out everything from Surveys to new kit installs. WIFI, Payment terminals, Self Service Checkouts, Printers, Desktop PC’s etc.

Typical day consists of;

  • Collect parts for assigned jobs
  • Complete anything from 1-6 jobs per day depending on job type and how busy it is
  • Return old parts next morning and collect next days equipment (Local depos used)

Commitment

  • Shifts are day work, Monday to Friday - there maybe the odd weekends and potential overtime (£12.50 per hour) but we cannot say when.
  • Many of our team started on a similar basis and are still with us years on and on longer-term contracts or moved into different areas of the business, so there is opportunity here for those who perform well and get on with the team.

Day Rate- £105.00-£115 per shift (plus completion bonus, explained below -Point 1 in Other Notes)

  • Day rate based on up to 10-hour day.

Expenses / Mileage

  • Congestion Zone, Bridge & Tolls and Parking expenses claimable. Mileage claimable

Benefits

Skills

  • Proficiency in maintaining and repairing computer hardware
  • Ability to perform computer repair tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with interpreting schematics and technical manuals
  • Proficient in using hand tools for repairs
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Knowledge of computer networking principles
  • Experience in equipment repair and maintenance

Other Notes

  • In addition to the shift rates, we offer an incentive scheme based on paperwork / timings etc being completed on time and too a required standard which can further increase your income.
  • You must be happy with potentially staying away from home - of course hotels are paid for and a food allowance provided when you have a hotel stay.
