About the Role:

  • Teach Design Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging and practical lessons.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver a range of lessons in line with the national curriculum, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as Resistant Materials and Product Design.
  • Inspire students to develop their creative and technical skills, fostering an interest in design and engineering principles.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and success.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular clubs and events within the department.

As the ideal Design Technology Teacher, you must hold:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Specialism or experience in teaching Design Technology, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
