Swift placements are recruiting on behalf of our client based in York who have an exciting opportunity due to continued growth for a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager.

The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's supply chain operations to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. This role involves coordinating and optimising all aspects of logistics, from supplier management to distribution, ensuring that the supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and customer focused. Youll be route planning the vehicles, managing the use of transport resources and working with all stakeholders to ensure products are where they should be at the required time.

The successful candidate will manage the coordination and flow of goods within the supply chain from procurement to delivery to the customer.

Benefits:

Monday to Friday, Full Time permanent position

Hours: Monday- Thursday 8:30- 4:30pm, Friday 8:00- 3:30pm

Your main responsibilities:

Logistics Management:

Plan and manage logistics operations including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers, transportation companies, and warehousing providers to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to logistics and transportation.

Oversee the timely delivery of goods and materials to meet customer demands and production schedules.

Carry out cost-effective planning of loads and routes to meet delivery times and budgets.

Manage drivers including ensuring they are meeting their legal obligations

Work closely with all stakeholders including liaising with drivers and subcontractors to ensure appropriate knowledge is captured and shared.

Supply Chain logistics:

Carry out cost effective planning of incoming and outgoing loads and routes to meet delivery times and budgets.

Work closely with all stakeholders including liaising with drivers and subcontractors to ensure appropriate knowledge is captured and shared.

Ensure you keep up to date with legislation and regulations governing drivers hours and liaise with the operators license holder to ensure legal compliance and maximise vehicle use.

Manage transport cost in relation to value per load and budgets.

Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, production, sales, and finance) to streamline processes and meet company objectives

Manage end-to-end supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and distribution.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor supply chain and logistics team members, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.

Ensure effective management and supervision of HGV drivers.

Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

Foster a collaborative working environment with cross-functional teams to achieve supply chain objectives.
