Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £43,000 - £46,000 (+ Benefits Package)

Location: Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire

Shift: Monday to Friday Days

We are seeking a talented and versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to a FMCG manufacturing business in Market Weighton. The successful Maintenance engineer can be electrically or mechanically biased, your expertise will be critical to maintaining and improving the efficiency of the site operations. This role offers the opportunity to work across mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering disciplines, providing comprehensive support to the manufacturing, production, and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

  • Ensure all machinery is maintained and serviced to retailer-standard engineering practices, prioritising food and operator safety.
  • Schedule and perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections to the highest standard, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and clean, hygienic handovers to production.
  • Operate and maintain essential service plant equipment, including boilers, chilled water systems, air compressors, and effluent treatment facilities.
  • Collaborate on machine design upgrades, installations, and relocations, playing a key role in efficiency improvements.
  • Engage in loss reduction and productivity enhancement initiatives alongside production operators.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain a clean, organised workspace at all times.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Skills required for maintenance engineer:

  • Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical or Electrical Bias
  • Previous experience of working in high speed manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance and efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respond to the demands of a fast-paced production setting.
