Hours of work – Monday to Friday
You can start from 7am – 9am and finish 3pm – 5pm – eg; if you start at 8am you would finish at 4pm
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Production Planner to join a well-established company based in York, North Yorkshire.
The Role
You will report to the Operations Director. Working as part of a friendly and results focussed Production team, you’ll work across the factory with our Planning Supervisor, Cell Leads, Logistics and Purchasing people to plan, communicate, deliver and improve our production planning.
Duties
- Create, maintain and communicate assigned Production plans, considering manpower, equipment, raw materials, production capacity, sales forecast, and new business opportunities, enabling weekly and monthly plan issue and on time delivery.
- Work with Production, Engineering, Sales and Quality, to align plans with changes and compliance requirements.
- Analyze, identify and propose solutions to risks (perceived and actual,) associated with the options built into the Production plan, including manufacturing lead times, potential bottlenecks, gaps and downtimes.
- Monitor plan delivered vs initial plans, considering wins, issues and improvements and how they can be incorporated into future plans.
- Complete agreed analysis and reporting requirements, presenting data clearly within emails, at meetings and as required.
- Attend required meetings, providing input and updating plans as necessary.
- Review requests of new sales orders and provide practical promise dates to Sales prior to confirmed orders.
- Collaborate with Planning and Project Management teams to ensure production readiness; enable plan stability and resolving conflicts.
- Review and maintain Capacity analysis to ensure proper staffing, machine scheduling and utilization.
- Support ERP set up, maintenance, updating and improvements.
- Drive a continuous improvement ethos through own actions and contributions, maintaining and improving service delivery.
Skills and Experience required
- Working in a planning/scheduling role to meet the job description responsibilities.
- Confident, professional and courteous communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Lean Manufacturing experience would be an advantage
