Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client based in York are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their highly knowledgeable Engineering team. The working week is Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week. Flexible start/finish times: start between 7am - 9 am and finish 3pm - 5pm.

For this position you will be logical, result focused, with a high attention to detail, an enquiring mind and a want to continually improve both our clients’ products and yourself. Our client is offering a salary of up to £35,000 depending on experience.

Whether you are a CAD Technician wanting to take your next step, or an Engineer wanting to expand your skills in new sectors, as part of the Mechanical Design team, you’ll be: ? Creating models and drawings using 3D CAD in Solidworks, ? Controlling drawings and documents ? Contributing to and completing research, design and development activities ? Providing technical assistance to customers, designing, developing, modelling or testing activities on projects and products

Every day will be different. You’ll be working and learning with your Engineering colleagues and collaborating with their in-house Machine Shop, Production and Sales teams. To be successful, you’ll have or be working towards the following: ? An HNC or equivalent level qualification in a mechanical discipline. ? Knowledge And Experience in the following: ? Mechanical Design Principles and application. ? Use of CAD and other engineering design applications. ? Software modelling and test activities in engineering design. ? Contributing to technical reviews and discussions. ? Working in a team environment to complete projects. ? Researching topics, writing reports and making recommendations.
